Plan or Host a Fundraiser
Many companies, college fraternities and sororities, community groups, families and individuals organize successful fundraising events to benefit Starlight. Whether it is a traditional fundraiser – a bake sale, car wash, loose change drive, online fundraiser, or something completely new and different, these efforts bring in vital revenue that helps us reach out to more kids and families who need us, and introduces Starlight to new friends.
Check the sidebar for a few ideas of what individuals/groups have organized as fundraisers for Starlight in the past.
Donate
Your gift will ensure that more families have access to Starlight’s entertainment, education and family activity programs which distract children from their pain, help them better understand and manage their illnesses, and connect families facing similar challenges so that no one feels alone.
- To provide our programs to a family for one week: $12
- To provide our programs to a family for one month: $50
- To provide our programs to a family for one year: $600
You may want to consider making an affordable recurring gift rather than a single, larger gift. Recurring gifts are deducted automatically from either your credit card or bank account as frequently as you specify. For example, many of our donors find it more convenient and affordable to automatically donate $10 or $20 each month, rather than make one $120 or $240 annual gift.
If you choose to provide your support through an automatic on-line recurring gift, you will receive an acknowledgment of each donation from Starlight confirming receipt and a thank you letter to use for tax purposes.
Volunteer
Show your support for Starlight and help make a difference in the lives of seriously ill children by volunteering for one of our events or activities. We are accepting volunteer applications from both individuals as well as groups.
Your group can volunteer at an event. We always need lots of smiling faces and people willing to share hugs! You can help sponsor an event. Sponsorships allow us to invite more families. Your group could raise funds to purchase tickets for an event, purchase food for an event, provide items for goodie bags or provide some type of special entertainment for an event.
Perhaps your group would like to put on an event. Arrange a sports camp day or cheerleader camp day or craft day or a big picnic.
